Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
On the 12th (Sat), get a taste of the local shopping with Ginza and then wander the streets of Odaiba. Keep things going the next day: see the interesting displays at Edo-Tokyo Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Senso-ji Temple, then engage your brain at National Museum of Nature and Science, and finally steep yourself in history at Tokyo National Museum.

Doha, Qatar to Tokyo is an approximately 13-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Arabia Standard Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 6 hour difference. Traveling from Doha in January, you will find days in Tokyo are much colder (11°C), and nights are a bit cooler (1°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sun) early enough to travel to Naniwa.

Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 16th (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, then steep yourself in history at Heian Shrine, and finally don't miss a visit to Gion.
