Renowned as a premier whale-watching destination, Hermanus grew from a quaint fishing village nestled on Walker Bay.
Attractions like Grotto Beach and Stony Point Penguin Colony make great kid-friendly stops. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Waenhuiskrans Nature Reserve and Voelklip Beach. Change things up with a short trip to African Penguin & Seabird Sanctuary in Gansbaai (about 38 minutes away). Spend the 12th (Sun) observing fascinating marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour. And it doesn't end there: tour the pleasant surroundings at Fernkloof Nature Reserve, kick back and relax at Kwaaiwater, stop by Hemingways of Hermanus, and do a tasting at Ataraxia Wines.
