Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.
Beitou Hot Spring has been added to your itinerary. Change things up with these side-trips from Taipei: Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) (in Ruifang) and YehLiu Geopark (in Wanli). Spend the 2nd (Fri) exploring nature at Yangmingshan National Park. And it doesn't end there: take an in-depth tour of National Palace Museum, make a trip to Elephant Mountain (aka Nangang District Hiking Trail), take in the spiritual surroundings of Lungshan Temple, and get to know the resident critters at Taipei Zoo.

London, UK to Taipei is an approximately 17- hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference when traveling from London to Taipei is 8 hours. In March, Taipei is much hotter than London - with highs of 25°C and lows of 17°C. You will leave for Hualien on the 4th (Sun).

Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Hualien boasts a number of attractions, both natural and manmade.
Hualien is known for trails, nature, and beaches. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: get outside with Taroko Gorge, tour the pleasant surroundings at Ch'ing-shui Cliff, contemplate the waterfront views at Liyu Lake, and enjoy the sand and surf at Chishingtan Scenic Area.

Take a train from Taipei to Hualien in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Wed) so you can drive to Hengchun.

Located on the southern tip of the eponymous peninsula, Hengchun serves as the entry point to Kenting National Park, often attracting more travelers than locals with its tropical beach resorts and bustling night markets.
You've now added Longpan Park to your itinerary. There's much more to do: explore the striking landscape of Kenting National Park, kick back and relax at White Sand Bay, examine the collection at National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, and stroll around Southern Point.
