Regarded as the fourth-oldest town in South Africa, Graaff-Reinet represents a well-preserved historic Dutch colonial settlement, set 750 (2,460 ft) above sea level on the banks of the Sundays River.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Tue): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Dutch Reformed Church, Groot Kerk and then identify plant and animal life at Valley of Desolation.

Enshrouded in lush indigenous forest and surrounding a scenic lagoon of the same name, the Garden Route town of Knysna has plenty to offer.
Kids will enjoy Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary and Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Garden Route (Tsitsikamma, Knysna, Wilderness) National Park and Wilderness Beach.
