As the political and cultural capital of China, Beijing stands at the heart of Chinese history, buzzing with the energy of its high population density and centuries of importance.
The Great Wall at Badaling and Temple of Heaven (Tiantan Park) are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Popular historic sites such as Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) and Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) are in your itinerary. Named after the "Yellow Mountains" with which the region has long been associated, Huangshan offers access to UNESCO-listed sites both natural and man-made.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Fri): admire the striking features of Huangshan Wanan Ancient Town, tour the pleasant surroundings at Huangshan Geopark, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Mt. Huangshan (Yellow Mountain). Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: contemplate the long history of Former Residence of Cheng Dawei, then contemplate the long history of Tunxi Ancient Street, then don't miss a visit to Dreamed Pen of Fine Essays (Bi Sheng Hua), and finally delve into the distant past at Xidi Ancient Village.

With a nickname like the "Pearl of the Orient," it's not surprising Shanghai offers some of the most rewarding attractions and activities in the Far East.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Shanghai Museum and then admire the natural beauty at Yu Garden (Yuyuan). Keep things going the next day: take a stroll through Xintiandi, then admire the striking features of Jade Buddha Temple, then get to know the fascinating history of The Bund (Wai Tan), and finally get a taste of the local shopping with Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road).

Fly from Huangshan to Shanghai in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In April, daily temperatures in Shanghai can reach 24°C, while at night they dip to 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 18th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Zhangjiajie.

On the 19th (Wed), delve into the lush surroundings at Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Zhangjiajie and then explore the stunning scenery at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Keep things going the next day: identify plant and animal life at Suoxiyu Nature Reserve and then delve into the lush surroundings at Tianmen Mountain of Zhangjiajie.
