Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Cape Agulhas - Southernmost Tip of Africa and LEMBU gallery. Step out of the city life by going to Grotto Beach and Stony Point Penguin Colony. Take a break from Hermanus with a short trip to Cape Agulhas Lighthouse in Cape Agulhas, about 1h 35 min away. There's much more to do: stroll through Fernkloof Nature Reserve, kick back and relax at Voelklip Beach, and get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour.

Drive from Cape Town to Hermanus in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. In November, daily temperatures in Hermanus can reach 28°C, while at night they dip to 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 9th (Fri) to allow time for travel to Knysna.

Nestled in the arid valley of Little Karoo, the town of Oudtshoorn remains the hub of everything ostrich-related, housing the world's largest population of the flightless birds.
De Krans Wines and Boplaas are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from the city and head to Swartberg Pass and Highgate Ostrich Show Farm. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Oudtshoorn: Calitzdorp (Calitzdorp Cellar & Calitzdorp Museum).
