The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong & Cheonjiyeon Falls). The adventure continues: explore the fascinating underground world of Manjanggul Cave, head off the coast to Udo, take in the pleasant sights at Handam Coastal Trail, and enjoy the sand and surf at Gwakji Gwamul Beach.

Rome, Italy to Jeju is an approximately 19.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. Traveling from Rome to Jeju, you'll lose 8 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Rome in October, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Jeju, with lows around 23°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Mon) early enough to travel to Busan.

Busan is known for beaches, historic sites, shopping, parks, and spas. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Gwangalli Beach, get great views at Taejongdae, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Beomeosa Temple.

Traveling by flight from Jeju to Busan takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. Traveling from Jeju in October, expect slightly colder with lows of 15°C in Busan. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Fri): appreciate the history behind Tongiljeon, contemplate the long history of Bulguksa Temple, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Seokguram, and finally steep yourself in history at Oksan Seowon. On the 12th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: walk around Taehwa River Grand Park, then examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond.

Drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In October, daytime highs in Gyeongju are 23°C, while nighttime lows are 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sat) early enough to drive to Sokcho.

You can drive from Gyeongju to Sokcho in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a bus. In October, plan for daily highs up to 22°C, and evening lows to 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Chuncheon.
