Get some historical perspective at Constitution Hill and South Western Townships. Get some cultural insight at Apartheid Museum and Maboneng Precinct. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Johannesburg: Montecasino (in Sandton) and Union Buildings (in Pretoria). Spend the 15th (Sun) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. Pack the 17th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Gold Reef City. There's still lots to do: try your luck at Emperors Palace, take in panoramic vistas at Top of Africa, and make a trip to Nelson Mandela Square.
