As one of South Africa's most popular beach destinations, the resort town of Plettenberg Bay comes to life in December and January, when the holiday homes fill up with domestic tourists and foreigner visitors.
Popular historic sites such as Holy Trinity Church and Nelson Bay Cave are in your itinerary. Take a break from the city and head to Featherbed Nature Reserve and Garden Route (Tsitsikamma, Knysna, Wilderness) National Park. Get out of town with these interesting Plettenberg Bay side-trips: Knysna (Jandreart Studio, Peggy's African Art and Tours, & more). There's still lots to do: stroll through Elephant Sanctuary and browse the fresh offerings at Elephant Walk Farm Stall.

New Delhi, India to Plettenberg Bay is an approximately 18-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of flight and bus. On the 14th (Tue), make a trip to NG Kerk, look for gifts at Die Biltong Boetiek, stop by Bee Things, get engrossed in the history at Drostdy Museum, then explore the galleries of Kunstehuijs Art Gallery, and finally look for gifts at Wilderbraam Berry Estate.

For shopping fun, head to Hemingways of Hermanus or LEMBU gallery. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Grotto Beach and Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Get out of town with these interesting Hermanus side-trips: Cape Agulhas - Southernmost Tip of Africa (in Cape Agulhas) and Stony Point Penguin Colony (in Betty's Bay).
