You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Grotto Beach and Voelklip Beach. Get in touch with nature at Stony Point Penguin Colony and Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Get out of town with these interesting Hermanus side-trips: Horse Riding Grootbos Private Nature Reserve (in Grootbos Private Nature Reserve) and African Penguin & Seabird Sanctuary (in Gansbaai). Enshrouded in lush indigenous forest and surrounding a scenic lagoon of the same name, the Garden Route town of Knysna has plenty to offer.
Get outdoors at Brenton on Sea and Buffalo Bay. Step off the beaten path and head to Featherbed Nature Reserve and Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary. Go for a jaunt from Knysna to Plettenberg Bay to see Garden Route Wolf Sanctuary about 30 minutes away. There's still lots to do: explore the striking landscape of Garden Route (Tsitsikamma, Knysna, Wilderness) National Park, stroll through Pledge Nature Reserve, contemplate the waterfront views at Knysna Lagoon, and kick back and relax at Noetzie.
