As the heart of the Northern Cape's "Diamond Fields"--the region where the glittering jewels were discovered in the 1870s--Kimberley has evolved from a simple mining encampment to a thriving city rich in history and heritage.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Sat): witness the site of a historic battle at Magersfontein Battlefield, then take an in-depth tour of The Big Hole Kimberley, and then examine the collection at Kimberley Mine Museum.

Sunny weather and golden beaches await you on a vacation in Durban, a busy port city on the Indian Ocean known for its outdoorsy atmosphere.
Shop till you drop at Gateway Theatre of Shopping and Burnedale. Kids will enjoy uShaka Marine World and uShaka Wet 'n Wild. Step out of Durban to go to Nottingham Road and see Piggly Wiggly, which is approximately 1h 35 min away. There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Umhlanga Main Beach, see the interesting displays at Addington Hospital Museum, admire all the interesting features of Moses Mabhida Stadium, and take in nature's colorful creations at Durban Botanic Gardens.
