Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Sun): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Tamarindo Church, then push the limits with an extreme tour, then look for gifts at EK Art Jewelry, and finally soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers. On the 16th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa Avellana, then explore and take pictures at Pura Aventura, and then stroll through Tamarindo Beach.

Set against the backdrop of the imposing Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna de San Carlos offers visitors a chance to explore diverse natural landscapes and sample some delicious local produce.
