National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Reviews
I didn’t even notice this in things to do but it turned out great. Easy metro accessibility and near Taipei 101. Free. Has an impressive guard changing ceremony at the top of every hour. Lots of sculp... more »
A very interesting place for any history buff. A place to be reminded of China's recent struggles. Dr Sun Yat Sen was a true leader of change and set many plans in place to have China a republic only ... more »
This place is located very close to Taipei 101, which makes it easy to find when you look for it on either google or iPhone map. It's beautiful architecture makes it even more so, gold yellow with red highlights. Many come to play games of Chinese chess with their friends and others dance to music, it truly is a place for everyone. What I enjoyed most though was not just history, but also the way it was honoured during the change of the guards which happens every hour, absolute military precision in their march. Be sure to find a spot early as it fills up very fast!
This is a nice place to visit in Taipei. The hall itself is very nice to look at. Next to it is a garden which also includes some statues of Sun Yatsen. In the hall itself are a lot of lecture hall, a small art gallery, a big statue and in the basement is a buffet restaurant. Once every hour you can see the guard change which is very well choreographed and fun to look at. It's very impressive. From the back of the building you have a good view on Taipei 101.
