Learn about the city's cultural history and ostrich trade at C.P Nel Museum. Opened in 1972, this attraction remains one of the world's few museums to house a synagogue. Inside, exhibits portray the importance of ostrich trade, plus the town's history during the apartheid era. The museum also features a 30 m (98 ft) high clock tower adorned with Corinthian ornaments--the clock was made in 1902 and imported from England. Beautiful things, no Tour Guide - just what I like. Be sure not to go with any controlling or neurotic people, as you will want to take your Time. The in-house Shul is MAGNIFICENT.
Fantastic museum covering the history of Oudtshoorn and the Ostrich Feather boom in the late 1800's. Unique Jewish Synagogue in the museum
