#10 of 32 in Wineries in Cape Town
Visit Klein Constantia, a vineyard and winery with an enviable location and interesting history. First established here in 1685 because of the quality of the soil and the cool ocean breezes, the winery produced a naturally sweet Vin de Constance, which became popular with writers, rulers, and the aristocracy during the 18th and 19th centuries--until a wine blight devastated the vineyards. Reopened in 1986, the facility offers tours of the facilities, tastings and pairing sessions, and an onsite store where you can pick up a bottle or two to take home with you. • Having visited many wine making estates I rate Klein Constantia on top of them. We spent very nice time there and managed to get new knowledge about the wines. Lovely scenery for photographers.  more »
  • KC is a majestic estate with an illustrious history in a beautiful setting. Explore the grounds before (or after) sampling wines in the tasting room. The range on offer is wide and staff are pleasant ...  more »
  • We did not visit vineyards and Winery for lack of time or could stay for lunch but we saw the restaurant and the map and it is an idyllic place for lunch quiet and shade. We on the other hand did a white wine tasting and was very interesting. The grape varieties such as we knew them by name in France do not have lots of similarities with those at the bottom who have fragrances of tropical fruits. All are not excellent but discovered the pinotage is interesting without being our favorite. The tasting merit moving if only to see the buildings white Cape Dutch style in the middle of the vineyards and not surrounded by Table Mountain.

  • An excellent winery with pristine wine tasting and ambience. Despite the fact that the products are relatively overpriced, its worth a visit and investing in some treats and wine. You will never forget a visit to this place. Visit when you have a good amount of time on your hands so that you really enjoy yourself.
  • Although this fancy establishment boasts beautiful scenery and has lovely wines, the food wasn’t quite up to scratch for the penny charged. R300 gets you a two course meal, starters was not very tasty, lacked some flavor and this leaving us all a tad nervous for the mains. That said, the mains saved the experience the lamb was succulent and oh so tasty 👌🏽 room for improvement, but will be back for wines...did I mention how beautiful this establishment is!
  • Make sure to check out the menu on the day you intend to go, as it is subject to change. The changing menu is a good thing as you are ensured the freshest ingredients...but I’m sure you already know that. The pairing menu is great; wonderful wines with brilliant bistro style food. The staff are professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. The floor, kitchen and management work well together to ensure that your experience is consistently enjoyable and relaxed. *biased review as I personally know management and staff...just FYI. Still great though...just go and check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
  • Small menu but well worth it. Perfect for any weather and the service was great. Waitrons are attentive and knowledgeable. With a great selection of wines on offer this is a venue for any occasion.
  • Beautiful tasting room. Cute dog family runs about the inside. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, not stuffy at all. Relaxed atmosphere. Wines are delicious.
