Klein Constantia, Constantia

#13 of 36 in Wineries in Cape Town
Visit Klein Constantia, a vineyard and winery with an enviable location and interesting history. First established here in 1685 because of the quality of the soil and the cool ocean breezes, the winery produced a naturally sweet Vin de Constance, which became popular with writers, rulers, and the aristocracy during the 18th and 19th centuries--until a wine blight devastated the vineyards. Reopened in 1986, the facility offers tours of the facilities, tastings and pairing sessions, and an onsite store where you can pick up a bottle or two to take home with you. • We tasted 8 wines which were all really good and because we spent money at the shop, we didn’t have to pay for the tasting. A beautiful farm! Worth a visit.  more »
