Ourika Valley, Ourika
Just 30 km (18.6) from Marrakesh, Ourika Valley yields an abundance of natural attractions at the foothills of the Atlas mountains. The dusty red rocks give the river a reddish hue as it flows through the valley, complementing the greens and browns of the walnut, poplar, and willow trees scattered throughout this cool area. The valley features seven waterfalls, all accessible on foot or by camelback ride up the main hill (guides will offer their services, but this hike is easy enough to do on your own). Do opt for a guided tour of the valley for insight into the Berbers' age-old agricultural and craftsmanship practices. Delicious. Climbing the mountains, several places to buy souvenirs, articles of the region, cosmetics and natural oils, among others. You have the option of walking up to the waterfall. It's worth it. It has choice of ride and photo with Camel. Very nice. Lunch you can opt for any of the restaurants located on the riverside. Very good. Super recommend. Note: Be sure to take sunscreen.
