  • The Park of momijidani being just off our ryokan, we were able to enjoy the relaxing setting (especially in late afternoon and early evening, once the very large majority of tourists have left) in order to admire the free deer in the mud, or a racoon in the early morning. The aisles are not very enlightened, giving the place a crazy charm at night. A small sanctuary (Shinomiya) is present. It is necessary to cross the Park if you want to walk to the funicular leading to mount Misen.

  • It is a park on the way to Miyajima Ropeway station which climbs to Miyayama of Miyajima. There are trees and a little waterfall and a river, and if the timing meets the deer, there is a very good view. As the name suggests, the season of autumnal leaves was wonderful, but the fresh green season was also quite good.

  • I like this wonderful forest, my favorite in Japan. The temple in the park (20-30 minutes from the rope way) sent me positive vibrations. The temple is magical. The forest is so beautiful.
  • This park is well-known for autumn leaves. There's a free shuttle at the entrance to pick you up to the ropeway station. My hubby and I just wanted to sit there for a bit, so we walked up (it's actually not very steep, but you get tired easily on the way up). We sat there for a bit, then a wild deer came and tried to get food from the Indian family sitting next to us. It was quite funny XD.
